Our friends at Comikaze Expo have outdone themselves (again!).  On November 5, 2011, Comikaze will be presenting a one-time only reunion of the cast of All That, Nickelodeon’s award-winning sketch comedy series.  You will not want to miss this event, as the cast will join together for a panel discussion and autograph signing for fans at the Los Angeles convention.

Dear Fanboy Comics Readers:

Greetings from the Shire on this happiest of Hobbit Days!  Hobbit Day is the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, two fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien's popular set of books, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.  In the books both Bilbo and Frodo were said to be born on September 22, but of different years. Bilbo was born in the year of 2890 and Frodo in the year of 2968 in the Third Age (1290 and 1368 respectively in Shire-Reckoning.)

The DC reboot is upon us, comic book sniffers! Welcome to the new DC universe! In an effort to help bring new readers into the world of comics, the Fanboy Comics staff has decided to review at least five new #1 issues each week of September, DC’s reboot launch month.

For my second venture into the DCnU, I read Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #1, written by Jeff Lemire and with art by Alberto Ponticelli.  Overall, I am happy to report that Frankenstein #1 was not an overwhelming disappointment like my experience with Swamp Thing #1; however, I feel that I may have been about 20 years too old to have fully enjoyed the issue.

The DC reboot is upon us, comic book sniffers! Welcome to the new DC universe! In an effort to help bring new readers into the world of comics, the Fanboy Comics staff has decided to review at least five new #1 issues each week of September, DC’s reboot launch month.

DC rebooted their titles to entice new fans who may have been previously unfamiliar with their comic books, right?  

I read my first DCnU comic book, Swamp Thing #1, written by Scott Snyder and art by Yanick Paquette, with no knowledge of the Swamp Thing character or its previous story lines.  After reading the comic, I can confidently say that I still have no knowledge of who Swamp Thing is nor how it came to be.

The following is an interview with Becca Fitzpatrick, author of the New York Times bestselling YA saga, Hush, Hush.  The book series follows Nora Grey, a book-smart teen who finds herself in the middle of strange, unexplainable, and otherworldly events after meeting (and falling for) a fallen angel.  Comprising of three books, Hush, Hush, Crescendo, and Silence - due in stores on October 4, 2011 - Fitzpatrick’s works have found an international following in 35 countries.  

Now, Fitzpatrick has joined with Sea Lion Books to produce a graphic novel adaptation of her first book, Hush, Hush, due in October of 2011.  Below, she discusses the process for creating a graphic novel, her thoughts on the Young Adult genre, and the honor of being nominated for YALSA's Teens' Top Ten.
