They say that we can be our own worst enemies, and it’s true.  How often do we fight with ourselves over the trivial things in life?  How often do we struggle with our own inner demons more than others?

Hey, Turtles fans!  Long time, no read!  I feel like it was just last week that I was writing about our favorite heroes-in-a-half-shell.  Oh wait…because I was!

My fellow time travelers, I can’t believe that today was the first time I set foot in my local comic book shop all year!  I was so behind in purchasing my latest comics for my ever-growing collection that I’ve especially missed my Back to the Future stories.

I'm probably not the only nerd who’s been sitting at the edge of his seat, impatiently waiting for March 3rd.  If you’re a gamer like me, then you know I’m talking about the Nintendo system we’ve all been waiting for—the Nintendo Switch!  And, of course, the only game we’ll be playing on Day One will be the long-awaited Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.  But whatever do we do with ourselves in the meantime?

Do my eyes deceive me, Turtle fans?  It’s been waaaaaaay less than a month since our last issue of the ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series.  Maybe we can start to read more than one per month?  (wink, wink, Eastman, Curnow, and Waltz…)

Love is in the air at Fanbase Press! In this magical month of romance and enchantment, the Fanbase Press Staff and Contributors decided to stop and smell the roses. Throughout the week of Valentine’s Day, a few members of the Fanbase Press crew will be sharing their personal love letters to the areas of geekdom they adore the most.

Dear Carrie,

The Force was strong with you...

A few months ago, I called a bet on how long IDW Publishing’s ongoing Back to the Future series would allow its current storyline, “Who is Marty McFly,” to last.  So far, we’re on Part 4…

Why do I enjoy the Tomb Raider franchise so much?  After this weekend’s Women’s March for Equality—the largest protest in the history of these United States—I am reminded that now, more than ever, we need strong female role models in our lives.  Whether these female inspirations come from our own families, popular and honest celebrities (cough, Meryl Streep, cough!), or even the characters we see in films and on TV, there are already many women we can choose to follow.  For me, Lara Croft is one of them.

Well, the new year is officially here, and the holidays have gone as quickly as they came . . . but not before our favorite heroes-in-a-half-shell threw themselves a well-deserved holiday party.

Happy New Year, Turtles fans!
