There’s the popular expression that says, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”  Well, for me, time flew by so fast that I just now realized I’ve been writing reviews for almost a year now, and this month I surpass my 10th review for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ongoing comic book series.  I couldn’t be prouder of Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, and Tom Waltz’s storyline as they’ve taken us form battles between baddies, and then those where our heroes always seem to prevail.

Who gets stuck with all the bad luck? Well yes, anyone who visits Jurassic World on vacation, but I was thinking more along the lines of Donald Duck. The famous Disney duck is back with all his friends in Donald Duck #2, and that includes the conclusion to "Shellfish Motives," a storyline that began last month. This issue also includes two additional stories: "Fishing Warning" and "Donald Duck, Counter Spy."

Finally!  A four-part series about my favorite comic book couple, Casey Jones and April O’Neil. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my heroes-in-a-half-shell, but after our Ninja Turtles lost one of their own in the ongoing storyline, I’ve been a little depressed, as if I lost my own brother.  I needed something uplifting to pick me up, and I can always count on April O’Neil to do just that.

Now, that’s what I call a way to end a comic book series—with a bang! And, not in the “Seymour-blows-his-guts-all-over-the-place” kind of bang. I’m talking the kind where the good guys get what they deserve, and the baddies crumble to the ground. All after an epic battle, of course.

Wow. Last month was pretty intense for us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans. The good news: Donatello isn't dead . . . yet. The bad news: Neither is Shredder. And, to make matters even worse, it appears that Shredder has teamed up with Baxter Stockman to get back at our heroes-in-a-half-shell for making a fool out of him during the fight against General Krang. Although, the Foot Clan doesn't know that their master is still alive, which sounds like another death threat on our turtles.

I went to Disney World a few months ago, partially to visit my parents who now live in Florida, but mostly to take my husband for the first time. Our week-long trip was a very magical experience for him, and it made me remember my first trip to see the famous castle back in 1988. Now, I’ve been to the place where dreams come true about 13 times in my lifetime, and it’s come to the point where I’ve lost count!

The year is 2015. I'm still waiting on flying cars and hoverboards, but let's at least go back in time to a few months ago. We're in New York City, the greatest city on Earth, which also happens to be the home of our greatest heroes on Earth: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Those following along with the current storyline know that our pizza-loving friends have lost one of their own, but that's why we're going back in time. Back in time to a few months ago when our Turtles needed help--from the Mutanimals!

I’m sure you all know by now that one of our own has passed. Alas, I’m talking about those pizza-loving heroes-in-a-half-shell. I won’t say which Turtle died at the end of Issue #44, in case you’ve been stuck in a well for the past month, but the ongoing comic book series for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has become dark. Very dark . . .
