MINOR SPOILERS

Ben Byrne came from a perfect world. One where the politicians are paid minimum wage while the teachers make a hundred grand a year. A world where there are no homeless and no sick. But, when Ben's father dies, Ben is left broken and depressed in a world where the idea of grief or tragedy makes no sense. That's when Ben crossed over into our world with all of its many flaws. A world where Ben can make a difference.

UXB summed up in just a few words: weird, violent, horrific, bizarre, immature, funny, and strange.

Das Bombast, Muc Olla, and Rifter are three kids thrown out into a dying world, forced to fend for themselves, but Das, Muc, and Rif have a bit of an advantage: their nanotech suits grant them superpowers. Their suits heal them, feed them, even go the bathroom for them, and they can create anything their hearts' desire, so the only real danger to the boys is a sense of crushing boredom. Fortunately for them, the world is their playground.

There is nothing more dangerous than a party of idle adventurers. It's a lesson the town of Palisade has already learned, which is why they start dolling out quests after the sixth bar brawl of the week. This is the way we're introduced to the Rat Queens, an all-women adventuring group consisting of Hannah, the elven mage whose mother won't stop calling her on her channeling stone, Dee, the atheist human cleric who still swears to her former deity out of habit, Violet, the dwarven fighter who can't come up with a cool saying for the life of her, and Betty, the smidgen (think hobbit or halfling) thief who really likes sex, drugs, and candy.

“How'd you get so many scars?” - Michelle Crosby

“ . . . I made a lot of mistakes.” - Travis Clevenger

Travis “Clev” Clevenger is a murderer on loan to the FBI for his talent to track down and arrest superhuman criminals; the kind that don't run around in tights with a bunch of henchmen and plot world domination, but the sort that use their abilities to commit far more ordinary crimes: theft, rape, and murder.

Well, we f---ed up the Earth. Yeah, it was bound to happen sooner or later, so no surprise there, but it's a good thing we prepared some contingencies. Enter the Gen and the cyborgs. The first group was genetically engineered to withstand the harsh new climate of the Earth, with its ever decreasing oxygen. The second started adding mechanical bits to themselves until they had not only managed to survive the environment, but extend their own lives by hundreds of years. There's just one problem: only a single strip of land near the Equator is inhabitable even with all of these advancements, and there simply isn't enough room for the both of them.

Monster Massacre is a new anthology series from Titan Books featuring stories from the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres along with a little bit of everything else. Interestingly, Monster Massacre draws on a wide array of writers and artists throughout time from Joe Simon and Jack Kirby to modern creators like Ron Marz and Andy Kuhn.

CDI is a corporation bent on world destruction, which it slowly accomplishes with the help of cybernetically enhanced soldiers called SHOC troops; however, some of these cyborgs rather like the world and have banded together to save it through the power of brute force.

Special forces cyborgs called SHOCs are sent around the world to accomplish missions for CDI, the company that transformed them into the perfect killing machines. But, something is amiss at CDI; SHOCs are going AWOL and only a girl and her dog are in a position to uncover the truth.

You best watch your step when visiting New Orleans. That's werewolf town, specifically Cassian Steele's. When the old werewolf boss puts out a hit on you, ain't nobody gonna save you, except maybe a demon seeking redemption named Barnabus Black. Side with him and maybe you got a chance.
