Bionic Battle Rabbit #1:’ Comic Book Review

Every now and then, I like to look for a unique comic book to review.  Something different from my monthly rituals of reading Tomb Raider, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, and anything Star Wars related.  But, boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I decided to pick up Weirdo Comics’ Bionic Battle Rabbit #1.

This new comic book series is all about Chester Hare, a video game designer with a deadline. When he spills coffee on his work computer, Chester is somehow mysteriously transported into his latest video game: Bionic Battle Rabbit! And I’ll give you one guess as to who becomes the hero? That’s right. Chester himself!

But, just like every video game story, every hero has an enemy, and Bionic Battle Rabbit’s enemy just happens to call himself the King of Death! Naturally.

Bionic Battle Rabbit #1, written and illustrated by Marc Jackson, gives new meaning to the name “Weirdo Comics.” This comic book is the very definition of weird, but in an awesome way! Marc’s story was entertaining the entire time. Jackson brings weird to a whole cool level I’ve never read before. I already want to know more about Bionic Battle Rabbit’s arch-enemy, the King of Death. My only hope is that Marc can earn more funds to produce this series in color. I think it would add a lot to the story, especially if we’re supposed to be in the environment of a video game.

In the meantime, way to go, Marc! You’ve added yet another comic book series I’m dying to keep reading. Thanks! (That’s called sarcasm, by the way. In case you can’t tell by my writing . . . TOO MANY COMICS!)

To all other writers out there: Let Marc be an example of what a great start to a brand new comic book series looks like!

Until next month . . .
