Fanbase Feature: Dream Journal – A Focus on Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Sandman’ – Episode 02

As a special feature of The Fanbase Weekly podcast, the Fanbase Feature focuses on and celebrates a specific element of geek culture.

In this Fanbase Feature mini-series, Dream Journal – A Focus on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman will provide an in-depth analysis of Neil Gaiman’s iconic comic book series, The Sandman. In this 10-episode limited podcast series, each episode will analyze one of the 10 trade paperbacks that span the full run of the Sandman series, exploring the themes of Gaiman’s seminal series, but also delving into the role of dreams in narrative storytelling and the overall impact that stories can impart on their audiences.

In the second episode of Dream Journal, the podcast panel discusses and dissects the stories, characters, themes, and importance of The Doll’s House, the second volume of Neil Gaiman’s seminal comic series, The Sandman. In this roundtable discussion, cast member Kelly Sue brings a unique take on The Sandman universe with her deep knowledge of Astrology and how it relates to storytelling in general.  The group also discusses their current dreams and personal recommendations for listeners who love The Sandman.

Continue listening after the episode for special supplemental material, where Justin will continue to break down some of the history of The Sandman‘s characters and how they fit into the greater DC Universe.
