Fanboy Comics Announces Editorial Staff Expansion

LOS ANGELES, CA – MARCH 14, 2016 – Comic book publisher and online media outlet Fanboy Comics is excited to announce that it is expanding its Editorial Staff with the addition of journalist and scholar Michele Brittany and the promotion of current Managing Editor Barbra Dillon.  Brittany will serve as the Editorials Manager, and Dillon will be promoted to Editor-in-Chief, creating a formidable Editorial Department.

Michele Brittany brings with her a wealth of writing and editing experience, having edited James Bond and Popular Culture: Essays on the Influence of the Fictionalized Superspy in 2014 for McFarland & Company, as well as the forthcoming anthology, Essays on Space Horror in Film, 1950s – 2000s. In addition, she has worked as a freelance writer for Bleeding Cool and currently serves as the Book Review Editor for the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics.  As the Editorials Manager, Brittany will oversee all aspects of the staff and contributor editorial process.

Barbra Dillon ascends to the role of Editor-in-Chief after having served as Managing Editor and co-founder of Fanboy Comics for the past five years.  Through her editorial guidance, Fanboy Comics boasts a vast array of promotional tools for seasoned and independent comic book professionals, including the weekly #GeeksCare and #CrowdfundingFridays series which seek to promote worthwhile charitable opportunities and currently running crowdfunding campaigns, respectively.  In addition, Dillon oversees the production process of all graphic novel publications, with notable projects including the Bram Stoker Award-nominated Fearworms: Selected Poems.

Fanboy Comics (FBC) is a comic book publisher and an online community supporting other creators and fans through daily reviews, interviews, and podcasts that span the pop culture spectrum.  FBC seeks to provide an outlet for up-and-coming artists and writers with a desire to create new works and media.  By facilitating in-house collaborations and providing support and empowerment, FBC hopes to enable the production of professional and marketable creator-owned works.  Fanboy Comics’ graphic novels, Something Animal, Identity Thief, The Arcs, Fearworms: Selected Poems, and Penguins vs. Possums, are available online at www.fanboycomics.net.
