Long Beach Comic-Con

Dear Fanboy Comics Readers:

The FBC staff is very excited to be exhibiting at Long Beach Horror & Comic-Con this weekend, alongside a number of other talented independent creators!  Taking place on November 3rd and 4th, 2012, at the Long Beach Convention Center, the annual event is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators, and creators of all pop culture genres.

Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanboy Comics booth (#1008) to meet the creators of the graphic novels Something Animal and Identity Thief and to pick up their very own signed copies.  Attendees will also be able to purchase the official Fanboy Comics t-shirt, so that they can show their geek pride in style.

In addition, you will not want to miss the Super Indie Comic Book Creation Panel taking place on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Room 103AB, where LA-based independent comic book creators will discuss their own experiences in self-publishing, providing sage advice for creators interested in doing the same.  The panelists will include Fanboy Comics Creative Director Sam Rhodes (Something Animal), Sebastian Kadlecik, Lindsay Calhoon, and John Bring (Penguins vs. Possums), and Kristopher White (The 36); the panel will be moderated by WE Comics Editor-in-Chief Jason Enright.

As a special treat, each of the creators on the panel will be raffling off a special prize pack at the end of the panel.  Everyone in attendance will receive a raffle tickets, so be sure to attend!

Following the panel, attendees can stop by the creators’ booths to purchase copies of their indie titles and to discuss more about how to publish and market your own comics!  (WE Comics – Booth #1008, The 36 – Booth #2008A, Penguins vs. Possums – Booth #1203)  The creators of Penguins vs. Possums will be premiering issue two of the series at the convention, so be sure to stop by to pick up your copy!  In addition, we invite you to visit indie artists Chris Thorne (The 36), Lak Lim, and Mike Vasquez of Sketch Card Fanatics at Booth #1912-1913.  Audio drama fans will also be excited to learn that the folks of Pendant Audio will be well represented at Booth #MR2.
