It was hard not to act like a giddy fan when I was offered the opportunity to interview some of the cast of Rock of Ages. I am a huge musical theatre geek, and this movie was my Avengers, Hunger Games, and Prometheus all rolled into one film. Yep, this was my summer movie. Rock of Ages, helmed by director Adam Shankman, follows the tale of a small town girl . . . oh, you know how the song goes. It takes you back to a time in Los Angeles when the Sunset Strip was the hub of music, but changes were brewing with the emergence of synthesized music and the rebirth of boy bands. While rock never dies, it is fun to take a step back in time when hair bands ruled the airwaves.
Sax Carr and Michael Holmes of ComicFandom.com talk about why this kind of event is important and simultaneously interview Barbra of FBC in a unique dual interview.

In the third part of this epic interview, artist/writer Jim Mahfood, aka Food One, talks with Fanboy Comics about Los Angeles Ink Stains published by Image Comics. Releasing June 20th, Ink Stains is the first printed edition collection of Jim Mahfood's autobiographical webcomic. The graphic memoir gives readers an insider's POV to the underground/lowbrow art scene unique to LA, and tells the story of one artistic hustler's rise to the middle. As emergent writer/performer Herbert Russell aptly states in the book's 6-page intro, "Ink Stains is bottomless baskets of adrenaline nachos shot through a peristaltic wave of hedonism, neurosis, and gonzo documentary."
On Saturday, June 6th, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., Emerald Knights Comics and Games in Burbank, CA, will be hosting its annual Open House in connection with Free RPG Day.
In addition to the free RPG giveaways, Emerald Knights will be running demos of all of the games that they regularly host. Participants will be able to join in top Roleplaying Games including Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition, Pathfinder, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and the new Marvel RPG that lets players take on the roles of the Avengers. The superhero fun continues with demos of HeroClix, Wizkids/Neca's incredible comic mash-up game where you can play out any battle you can imagine from Wolverine vs. Gandalf to Superman vs. the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Writers Andrew Chambliss and Scott Allie wrap up the latest story arc, “Apart (of me),” and Buffy’s time as a one-armed robot in Issue #10 of Buffy: Season 9. While the issue features a couple of great scenes and the arc wraps up leaving us wondering what’s to come next, the end of this chapter of Season 9 seems to lack the “omph!” that is desperately desired.
