Ever since Kevin Smith crashed the geek scene, comic books and marijuana have been linked together (or maybe I’m not giving proper credit to the stoners of the ‘60s and ‘70s who made books like The Silver Surfer popular with more than just the neighborhood kids). Well, Identity Comics is now blazing the path for a new comic series that is sure to be a hit with those who not only read their funny papers, but also roll them.

Bud Man: The Dank Knight is described as a spoof comic done in the style of ‘head shop’ comics like Dr. Atomic and Robert Crumb’s Weirdo, featuring a story about the struggles of a medical marijuana advocate and his trusty sidekick. Bud Man will also feature the artwork of Michael Leone, who’s work was featured in Identity Comics previous anthology series, Verge. (Read reviews of issue #1 and issue #2.) There is currently an indiegogo campaign running to help fund Bud Man: The Dank Knight, and there are a number of rewards being offered to donors, including a copy of the first issue of the comic, a Bud Man t-shirt, the opportunity to get your name and likeness written into the comic, and more!

Be sure to visit the Identity Comics Presents Bud Man: The Dank Knight Indiegogo page and help Identity Comics reach a new high!

The campaign closes on Wednesday, July 8th, so don’t bogart your funds and be sure to donate soon!
