This week’s edition of Fanboy Comics’ Kickstarter Report highlights Gateway Runners #1, a brand new comic book by the folks at Nerd Nation, a podcasting group that is again venturing into the exciting world of comic book publishing.  Gateway Runners #1 is a fast-paced, character-driven adventure about a future where Earth has taken its first steps into a larger universe in light of its massive overpopulation. With Mars terraformed and colonized, the population problem is somewhat lessened; however, Mars sorely lacks needed technology and medical supplies, and Earth suffers from a lack of natural land on which to plant.  Is there anything that can save these two planets, and all of humanity?  Their only hope may be . . . the Gateway Runners.  In order to bring this high speed sci-fi story to life, Nerd Nation needs your help!

If funded, the 28-page, full-color comic book will be the first of a four-issue miniseries.  The project will bring together writer Gene Hoyle (Solestar, Elan Vital) and artist Ashley Lanni (Verge #1, Aspire).
