Tread Perilously is a podcast in which hosts Erik Amaya and author Justin Robinson watch the “worst” episodes of popular TV shows, attempting to determine if they would continue to watch the series based on the most off-key moments.

This Week: Doctor Who‘s “Blink”

Tread Perilously month concludes with one of the most beloved of Doctor Who tales: “Blink.”

When Sally Sparrow invades the strange manor known as Wester Drumlins, she discovers a message left there for her since 1969. Signed by the Doctor, it tells her to beware the Weeping Angels dotted around the estate. With this, Sally finds herself in the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey of the Doctor even as the Time Lord himself is absent. She loses her best friend, but maybe finds a Rory along the way. A cop falls madly in love with her, but he builds another life for himself in 1969. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Martha must contend with four things and a lizard.

Will Justin agree with the consensus opinion of the episode? Will he enjoy the Weeping Angels? Will he consider them a successful monster? Will he like it more than “Tomb of the Cybermen?” Will he fall in love with the ethereal Sally Sparrow as so many others have before him? Will he declare this the best episode of Doctor Who he’s ever seen? Will Erik ever stop hating the Tenth Doctor?
