Paul and Corey Cross the Streams is a bi-monthly podcast in which hosts Paul Pakler and Corey Pepper watch and review streaming content – so you don’t have to!
This month, Paul and Corey are taking a moment – well, two – to think about other people. Biopics! The word no one pronounces correctly. In this episode, Corey chose Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002). The film is based on TV producer Chuck Barris’ (The Dating Game; The Newlywed Game; The Gong Show) idiosyncratic “unauthorized autobiography.” From its star-studded cast, to the CIA’s involvement in overthrowing numerous governments, to Drew Barrymore’s incredible “playing of opposites” during a key scene, this episode will have your heart flyin’ up like a rocket ship / Down like a roller coaster / back like a loop the loop / and round like a merry-go-round! (Those a lyrics from the song “Pallisades Park” which Chuck Barris also wrote!)
