The Fanbase Press staff is very excited to be exhibiting at Long Beach Comic Con next weekend, alongside a number of other talented independent creators! Taking place on Saturday, September 2, and Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Long Beach Convention Center, the annual event is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators, and creators of all pop culture genres. Throughout the weekend, we will be reporting live from the convention floor, providing you with the coolest interviews, panel coverage, and photos – along with meeting fans at the Fanbase Press booth, where you can purchase all of our graphic novels! Plus, Fanbase Press’ staff and contributors will be participating in quite a few intriguing panels throughout the weekend that you will not want to miss!
Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanbase Press booth in the Artist Alley area (A-15) to pick up copies of Hero Hotel, Penguins vs. Possums, The Arcs, Something Animal, Identity Thief, Fearworms: Selected Poems, and the soon-to-be-releases The Gamma Gals! PLUS, The Gamma Gals creator/writer/artist will be on hand on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. to sign copies of the graphic novel! As a special treat, Fanbase Press will be selling the official Fanbase Press t-shirt in sizes Small – XXL, so that attendees may show their geek pride in style. Plus, don’t miss your chance to pre-order a copy of Fanbase Press’ upcoming all-ages graphic novel, Quince!

Saturday, September 2
- 11:30 a.m.: Fanbase Press Presents: Things That Go Bump in Horror Comics featuring Fanbase Press’ Bryant Dillon, David Blake Lucarelli, Dave Crosland, David Gallaher, and Steve Ellis. The creators will share how they began their careers in horror, the challenges and benefits of working in this genre, as well as their thoughts on the future of horror comics. Moderated by Fanbase Press Editorials Manager Michele Brittany (Room: The Bridge – 203A)
- 5:30 p.m.: Women on the Dark Side featuring Janet Joyce Holden, Susan Lee, Madeleine Holly-Rosing, and Christie Shinn. The panelists will share their penchant for creating “dark” material and their experiences as female creators in various entertainment industries. Moderated by Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon (Room: The Garage)
In addition, you will not want to miss the other indie creators, writers, artists, and publishers who will be exhibiting their work at the convention.
- Writer Madeleine Holly-Rosing will be in Artist Alley (Table A-32) with the trade paperback of Boston Metaphysical Society, the anthologies Boston Metaphysical Society: Prelude and Some Time Later (which as a new BMS story in it entitled Here Abide Monsters), and the second edition of Kickstarter for the Independent Creator.
- Writer Neo Edmund will be in Artist Alley (Table A-16) with his Alpha Huntress books, as well as copies of his Power Rangers book, Tournament of Terror!
- The creative team of Monster Elementary will be in Artist Alley at Table A-18!
- Writer Norm Harper of Karate Petshop will be in Artist Alley at Table F-20 will his graphic novels, including the Eisner Award-nominated Rikki. Harper will also participate on the “Hey! Kids’ Comics!” Panel on Sunday September 3, at 11 a.m. in Room 102C (THE LAIR).
