Fanbase Press is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Geeky Parent Guide, a semi-monthly editorial series by Fanbase Press Contributor (and father of two) Travis Lakata that will help parents and other caregivers to safely and positively navigate various avenues of pop culture with their children.

Designed to accommodate parents of children from various age groups (toddler through adolescent), each edition of the Geeky Parent Guide will focus on a new geeky topic, providing valuable information about family friendly comic books, movies, museums, and other entertainment mediums.  Upcoming areas of focus for the series will include better understanding the MPAA ratings of movies and TV programs, the ins and outs of Free Comics Book Day, and geek-tastic vacation spots throughout the United States that feature theme parks and science centers.

“I love the idea of researching different ways for parents to become and stay connected with their children, from a young age through their teen years,” says Lakata.  “I hope that the Geeky Parent Guide will become a place for parents to not only find great information, but to connect with each other.”

The first edition of the Geeky Parent Guide will be released on Thursday, April 6, 2017, and will be found at www.fanbasepress.com.  Subsequent editions will be released every first and third Thursday of the month.
