Sci-Fest LA invites all Los Angeles-based geeks to join them on Monday, January 11th, at the beautiful Colony Theatre in Burbank, CA, for their fundraising performance of the chilling, 1944 radio version of the sci-fi horror classic, Frankenstein! The impressive cast includes a number of talented performers and sci-fi icons, such as Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Gates McFadden (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise), Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (Grimm), Alan Polonsky (Aliens), and John Rabe (KPCC’s Off Ramp).
In addition to the performance, the night will also include the presentation of the first-ever Sci-Fest LA Icon Award to legendary filmmaker Roger Corman (Little Shop of Horrors) and will be proceeded by a wine reception and silent auction in the lobby featuring posters, books, and memorabilia signed especially for this event by icons Stan Lee (Marvel), Neil Gaiman (Coraline, Sandman), and Don Mancini (creator of Chucky). Also joining the reception will be sci-fi movie legends Barbara Bain (Space: 1999), Jackie Joseph (Little Shop of Horrors), and Lee Meriwether (Star Trek and Batman). At the conclusion of the evening, Sci-Fest LA will announce their 2016 line of mind-bending shows selected for their upcoming festival in May.
As mentioned, this performance of Frankenstein is serving as a fundraising event for the upcoming Sci-Fest LA one-act play festival. Tickets for Frankenstein are offered as rewards to supporters of Sci-Fest LA who donate $55, $75, or $100 via their website.
For those unfamiliar with this unique and amazing event, Sci-Fest LA is Hollywood’s annual one-act play festival that celebrates all things science fiction and will be returning May 5-29, 2016.
