Last year, GLAAD Award-winning and Eisner-nominated publisher and media outlet Fanbase Press celebrated its 15th anniversary with the launch of the “Build Your Community” Initiative: a series of in-person and virtual opportunities for connection and skill building to navigate a collective path forward. To continue in the practice of supporting our community and providing opportunities for connection and skill building, Fanbase Press will be launching its first-ever virtual Portfolio Review sessions, conducted by critically acclaimed artists including Ray-Anthony Height (Midnight Tiger, Spider-Girl) and Don Aguillo (Spawn, King Spawn).

If you are an artist who hasn’t experienced a portfolio review or if you’ve had prior reviews that have been far from constructive, Fanbase Press’ review sessions will offer artists an opportunity to make a genuine connection with an experienced artist and receive helpful and constructive feedback in a professional, yet comfortable, virtual setting.

“At Fanbase Press, we aim to continue in our efforts to not only provide a safe space for meaningful connection, but to foster creative talent and provide resources and skill-building that will benefit creators and the community as a whole,” shares Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon.

Fanbase Press’ first-ever Portfolio Review sessions will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 3-6 p.m./EST (12-3 p.m./PT). To ensure accessibility for all of Fanbase Press’ community members, the Portfolio Review sessions will take place virtually via Zoom. (Please note that reviews will not be recorded.) Interested participants will have their portfolios reviewed in advance of their scheduled session. Each session will be 20 (twenty) minutes in duration.

If you would like to participate and have your portfolio reviewed, please complete this interest form

Participants will receive a confirmation email and calendar invite (with Zoom link) with their assigned reviewer and appointment time.*

For any questions, please contact Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon (barbra@fanbasepress.com).

Fanbase Press will have many more in-person and virtual events scheduled throughout the year. Stay tuned for more information and updates by visiting the Fanbase Press website or follow us on Facebook, BlueSky (fanbasepress.bsky.social), Instagram (@fanbasepress), and Twitter (@Fanbase_Press).

*Please note that confirmed Portfolio Review sessions are based on a first-come, first served basis. Submission of the participant interest form does not guarantee confirmation. Portfolio Review sessions are for information purposes only and do not provide nor guarantee work opportunities.
