With Halloween fast approaching, the time has come to revel in a night of hauntingly horrifying fun and devilish delight! The fiendish folks at Fanboy Comics invite you to attend An Evening of Horror Fiction & Poetry on Monday, October 26, 2015, from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe in Los Angeles, CA. This will be the first of two Halloween-themed readings presented by Fanboy Comics this month for readers in the SoCal area!
Join us as incredibly talented writers Robert Payne Cabeen (Fearworms: Selected Poems, Heavy Metal 2000) and Justin Robinson (City of Devils, Coldheart) recite their tantalizing tales of terror for audiences to enjoy. Cabeen will share select passages from his recent poetry collectionthat will leave listeners squirming with dread, and Robinson will read a passage from his novel, Get Blank, along with short story that is set in the universe of his horror novel, City of Devils. Following the performances, Fanboy Comics invites you to stay for tricks, treats, and a book signing with the authors.
Written and illustrated by Cabeen, Fearworms is a collection of horror poems and full-color artwork that is guaranteed to have readers squirming. Cutting close to the bone, these manically crafted word machines are visceral, psychological, haunting, and terrifyingly humorous. The book also features cover art by Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated artist Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, Stray Toasters, The New Mutants).
Admission for An Evening of Horror Fiction & Poetry is FREE, so be sure to mark your calendars for this night of fantastically frightful fun!
