Thorne has made a name for herself in the geek community both in her time as a Fanboy Comics Contributor, reviewing countless comic books, films, and novels, as well as through her own company, An Unexpected Hobby.  Launched in early 2015, An Unexpected Hobby is home to the many facets of Thorne’s geekery, including crafting, sewing, and embroidery. She creates all of her own stitching patterns (which are available for purchase) and also creates do-it-yourself crafting kits for a fair number of planets in the Geek Universe, including Star Trek, Zombies, Dark Tower, Time Lords, Space Cowboys, Hobbits, Evil Geniuses, Good Guys, Bad Guys, Girls of all Shapes, Sizes, and Cylon models. An Unexpected Hobby may be found on Etsy and on its official blog

“Claire is an incredible wealth of geeky knowledge, and her amazing wit, thoughtfulness, and energy will be a welcome addition to the show,” says FBC Managing Editor Barbra Dillon.
