The Fanbase Press staff is very excited to be exhibiting once again at WonderCon 2024, alongside a number of other talented independent creators! Taking place from March 29-31, 2024, at the Anaheim Convention Center, the annual event is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators, and creators of all pop culture genres. Throughout the weekend, we will be meeting fans at the Fanbase Press booth (Small Press SP-81), where you can purchase all of our award-winning comics and graphic novels and meet the creators! The team will also be participating in lots of incredible panels, so be sure to check out the programming and signing schedules below.
Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanbase Press booth (SP-81) to pick up all of our comics and graphic novels, including the 2024 GLAAD Media Award-winning Four-Color Heroes, 2023 Eisner and Harvey Awards-nominated Ripple Effects, the 2018 Eisner Award-nominated Quince, the multiple award-winning Quince: The Definitive Bilingual Edition hardcover, the 2022 International Latino Book Award-winning Nuclear Power, and more.

12:30 p.m.: Comics Under Attack: Navigating Book Bans and Censorship – Led by Barbra Dillon (editor-in-chief, Fanbase Press), this panel of librarians, educators, and publishing professionals—including Moni Barrette (director of collection development & publisher relations, Library Pass), Matthew Noe (librarian, Harvard Medical School), Jack Phoenix (graphic novel selector, Brodart), and Dr. Theresa Rojas (professor, Modesto Junior College)—discuss how books bans and censorship are impacting the comics industry and the collaborative measures that can be taken to contend with the obstructive efforts. 6:30 p.m.: Showcase on Women in Media – Representation in media starts with female voices creating the content that reflect women in media. This panel showcases the array of different voices and roles from writers, set designers, publishers, and more. Topics range from LGBTQIA issues to ageism and how to get your voice heard. Panelists include Debbie Daughtee (Kymera Press), Tilly Bridges (Begin Transmission: The Trans Allegories of the Matrix), Ghezal Omar (Artillery Network), Barbra Dillon (Fanbase Press), and Joelle Sellner (Dial S for Santa, Werewoofs). - Craig Miller will be on the Writing for TV Animation: Myths and Realities panel on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Room 213.
- Creator Joshua Hauke will be in Artist Alley at table B-18 with copies of his new book, Doom’s Day Camp: The Story Eater.
- Writer/artist Richard Fairgray (GLAAD Media Award-winning Four-Color Heroes) and writer David Avallone (Elvira Meets HP Lovecraft/Drawing Blood) will be in Small Press (SP-46), and David will be appearing on The Writers Block panels and networking events throughout the weekend.
- Writer Russell Nohelty will be in Small Press (SP-30) with Jessica Maison from Wicked Tree Press and Matt Harry from Codex Arcanum.
- Writer/artist Christie Shinn will be in Artist Alley (Table E-54) doing commissions, originals, prints, and, of course, selling Demon Bitch! She will also be appearing at the CAPS Booth (2183) and participating in the Creators Assemble: Comics Camaraderie, A Networking Event on Friday at 5 p.m.
- Boston Metaphysical Society will be in Small Press (Table SP-76), with Vol. 1 and 2, and the first two issues of Mystery at Pikes Peak with the standard covers by Angela Wu and variants by Rio Burton and Steph C. A limited number of metal covers will be available, and the latest steampunk lapel pin.
- Allen Carter of Carter Comics will be in Small Press (SP-89) with with his travel parody, Damn Tourists. Mr. Carter will also have his science fiction/adventure trade paperback, Cosmic Force (which he is currently ending with the eighth and final issue in production), and the return of his Figure-Of-Speech Mongoose comic strip collections. In addition, a limited edition trade paperback of Damn Tourists‘ first four issues will be available to the first customer for $20, or that customer can purchase it as a bundle with the DT Trade, along with standard comic issues 5 and 6 for $30.
- Writer/artist Nathanial Osollo will be at Artist Alley (table B-22) offering 5 blank variant cover commissions for $50.00 each (normally $100). These are original pieces of water color and multimedia artwork that convention attendees can take home with them and hang on their wall or read to their heart’s content.
- Writer Nicholas Doan will join artist Bobby Timony in Small Press (Table SP-61) with copies of Monster Elementary, Daisy Cassidy, The Kid and The Ripper, and the Containment Breach Volume 4 anthology!
- Writer/artist Don Nguyen will be in Artist Alley (Table E-24) with a number of exclusive and limited print run books!
- The Comic Arts Professional Society (CAPS) will be at booth 2183 featuring Monster Matador‘s Steven Prince, Inkpot Award winner Randy Reynaldo (selling all back issues of Rob Hanes Adventures and a preview of Milestone #25) and creator El Kartun (selling copies of the horror anthology Phobias, as well as Scarlet Spirit, Rad Chismo and the 88 Terras, and Freezer Burn).
