LOS ANGELES, CA – March 4, 2015 – Fanboy Comics invites you to attend the ninth installment of Shades & Shadows on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe in Los Angeles, CA. Shades & Shadows is the only literary series in Los Angeles that brings together science fiction, fantasy, horror, and all things weird, and Fanboy Comics is honored to announce that Robert Payne Cabeen, creator/writer/illustrator of FBC’s latest book, Fearworms: Selected Poems, will be among the myriad of talented creators performing in the show.
Join us as select genre authors recite excerpts of their works that will delight and terrify you, making you squirm in your seat and raising the hairs on your neck. You may hear stories that have not yet been published or selections from novels you have not yet discovered. In fact, you might hear a favorite piece from a collection or novel that you love and cherish! In addition to Fearworms‘ Robert Payne Cabeen, additional performers at Shades & Shadows will include Leslie Ann Moore, Tiffany Tang, Christopher Allan Poe, Tracy L. Carbone, and Del Howison.
In addition, Fanboy Comics will be in attendance, selling copies of Fearworms: Selected Poems and its previous graphic novels, including Penguins vs. Possums, The Arcs, Identity Thief, and Something Animal.
Written and illustrated by Robert Payne Cabeen (Tainted Treats, Heavy Metal 2000, A Monkey’s Tale, Walking with Buddha), Fearworms is a collection of horror poems and full-color artwork that is guaranteed to have readers squirming. Cutting close to the bone, these manically crafted word machines are visceral, psychological, haunting, and terrifyingly humorous. The book also features cover art by Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated artist Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, Stray Toasters, The New Mutants).
Tickets for the upcoming Shades & Shadows event are $10 and now on sale, and more information may be found by visiting the event’s Facebook page.
