Last year, Fanboy Comics was excited to learn about Sci-Fest, Hollywood’s first one-act play festival that celebrated all things science fiction.  Featuring two rotating weeks of new and classic sci-fi plays with amazingly talented performers from sci-fi favorites of the big and small screens, it would be an understatement to say that FBC’s staffers were floored by the festival.  In light of this, we are excited to share that Sci-Fest will be returning once again in 2015, and, to celebrate, the founders of the festival will present a very special, one-night-only benefit performance of Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 8 p.m. at the ACME Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

As this is a benefit performance to raise funds for Sci-Fest (a project of the non-profit organization, Fractured Atlas), all tickets are being offered only as rewards to donors who contribute to Sci-Fest at the following levels:

$125.00 “Shooting Star” Donation = 1 ticket
$225.00 “Gemini” Donation = 2 tickets

Only 88 tickets are available, and seating will be general admission, non-reserved seating.  The price of admission will afford ticket holders a seat in the performance, as well as entry into the post-show reception.

The play will feature actors from fan-favorite sci-fi franchises, including René Auberjonois (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: TNG), Dean Haglund (The X-Files) Walter Koenig (Star Trek original series), Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise), Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), Armin Shimerman (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: TNG) as “Orson Welles.” Plus, there will be a special, pre-recorded cameo appearance by comic book legend Stan Lee!

Tickets will go on sale on December 1, 2014, at 10:00 a.m./PST.  To make your purchase, visit www.SCI-FEST.com and click on “Donate.” Then, enter a donation amount of $125.00 (for 1 ticket) or $225.00 (for 2 tickets).  Follow the prompts to complete your donation. (Tickets are first come, first served, and there is a limit of 2 tickets per donor.)
