If you love all things Joss Whedon and are excited for the upcoming Halloween festivities, then you will not want to miss Whedonopolis‘ 7th Annual Halloween Charity Event, which will take place on Saturday, October 18th, at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in the Barnsdall Art Park of Los Angeles, CA. In association with Fandom Charities, the event promises to be a hootenanny of celebrity appearances, geektastic vendors, exciting prizes and giveaways, tasty food trucks, and lots of cinematic goodness, all benefiting Kids Need to Read, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to underfunded schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the United States, especially those serving disadvantaged children.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., this year’s event will feature screenings of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog, as well as several short films. This charity event is not to be missed, as you can always guarantee a number of appearances by Whedon-friendly geek celebrities. Previous special guests have included Joss Whedon (the man, himself!), Jed Whedon, Zack Whedon, Maurissa T. Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day, Vincent Caso, Alan Tudyk, Fran Kranz, and many, many more! This year (schedules permitting), appearances may include Todd McIntosh, Shawna Trpcic, and Sandeep Parikh.
Tickets are available online and at the door, but be sure to get your soon; they will go fast! Free onsite parking will be available.
