Late last month, the Fanboy Comics staff attended Long Beach Comic Con 2014 in Long Beach, CA, for another celebration of all things comics and pop culture.  During the convention, FBC hosted its latest edition of the “Indie Creators, Unite! Demystifying Self-Publishing” panel, where LA-based independent comic book creators discussed their own experiences in self-publishing, providing sage advice for creators interested in doing the same. Moderated by Fanboy Comics Managing Editor Barbra Dillon, the panelists included Justin Robinson (Get Blank, City of Devils, Everyman), Jody Houser (Cupcake POW!, Womanthology), Joshua Hauke (Tales of the Brothers Three), Madeleine Holly-Rosing (Boston Metaphysical Society), and Sam Rhodes (Fanboy Comics Creative Director, Something Animal).

If you did not have a chance to attend the panel or Long Beach Comic Con, the full audio of the “Indie Creators, Unite!” panel is now available!  We extend our special thanks to Erik Amaya at www.thesatelliteshow.com for recording the panel audio.

We hope that the panel and its panelists provided helpful information regarding the process of self-publishing.  Here at Fanboy Comics, our goal is to provide an outlet for up-and-coming artists and writers with a desire to create new works and media.  By facilitating in-house collaborations and providing support and empowerment, FBC hopes to enable the production of professional and marketable creator-owned works.  Readers are always welcome to contact the Fanboy Comics staff for support.
