The Fanboy Comics staff is very excited to be exhibiting at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend, alongside a number of other talented independent creators! Taking place on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the Long Beach Convention Center, the annual event is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators, and creators of all pop culture genres.

Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanboy Comics table (Artist’s Alley #1809) to meet the creators of the graphic novels Penguins vs. Possums: Volume One, The Arcs, Something Animal, Identity Thief, and FBC’s upcoming title, Fearworms: Selected Poems! (Fanboy Comics’ creator signing schedule may be found below.) Attendees will also be able to purchase the official Fanboy Comics t-shirt, so that they can show their geek pride in style.

In addition, you will not want to miss the Indie Creators, Unite! A Guide to Self-Publishing panel taking place on Saturday, September 27, at 12:30 p.m. in Room 101A, where LA-based independent comic book creators will discuss their own experiences in self-publishing, providing sage advice for creators interested in doing the same. Moderated by Fanboy Comics Managing Editor Barbra Dillon, the panelists will include Justin Robinson (Get Blank, City of Devils, Everyman), Jody Houser (Cupcake POW!, Womanthology), Joshua Hauke (Tales of the Brothers Three), Madeleine Holly-Rosing (Boston Metaphysical Society), and Sam Rhodes (Fanboy Comics Creative Director, Something Animal).

Attendees will also find a plethora of other independent comic book creators on the showroom floor! Author Justin Robinson (Get Blank, Mr. Blank, Everyman) will be exhibiting in Artist’s Alley (#1001) with copies of his latest book, Get Blank. (You can always spot his booth by looking for the red banner and the question mark!) In addition, Joshua Hauke (Tales of the Brothers Three) and David Scott Smith (www.spacebase8.com) will be at Artist’s Alley Table #1911 providing free sketches for attendees that purchase a copy of their books. Creator/writer Kristopher White of The 36 and Father Robot will be at Artist’s Alley Table #1813 and will be moderating the #MakeComics: The Art of Drawing Comics on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the #MakeComics: Working With The Boss: How to Pitch Editors panel on Saturday at 5 p.m.  Lastly, Madeleine Holly-Rosing will be at Artist’s Alley table #1213 with a special bundle deal of Boston Metaphysical Society Chapters 1-4, plus 3 Steampunk owl stickers for  $20 and new Nikola Tesla lapel pins!
