Dear Fanboy Comics Readers:
The FBC staff is very excited to be exhibiting at WonderCon Anaheim next weekend, alongside a number of other talented independent creators! Taking place from March 29-31, at the Anaheim Convention Center, the annual event is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators, and creators of all pop culture genres. Throughout the weekend, we will be reporting live from the convention floor, providing you with the coolest interviews, commentaries, screening details, and photos!
Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanboy Comics booth (SP-52 in the Small Press section) to meet the creators of the graphic novels Something Animal and Identity Thief and to pick up their very own signed copies. Attendees will also be able to purchase the official Fanboy Comics t-shirt, so that they can show their geek pride in style.
In addition, you will not want to miss the other indie creators, writers, artists, and publishers who will be exhibiting their work at the convention. The founders of JBSK Comics – Sebastian Kadlecik, Lindsay Calhoon, and John Bring – will be exhibiting at Table AA-109 (in Artists’ Alley) and will be premiering the third issue of Penguins vs. Possums. All-ages comic book publisher WE Comics will be in attendance at SP-48. Editor-in-Chief Jason Enright and How I Spent My Summer Invasion illustration Mark Wilson will be on hand, selling new issues of the out-of-this-world series. (As a special treat, Wilson will draw a free personalized sketch with each purchase of Summer Invasion.)
Creator/writer Kristopher White of The 36 will be exhibiting at SP-47 and is excited to be premiering a limited number of signed, exclusive posters for Father Robot, an upcoming graphic novel about the first ever self-aware robot. (Stay tuned to the Fanboy Comics website for an exclusive interview with White, as well as a first look of the Father Robot poster!) Fans should also stop by The 36 booth to meet cover artist Chris Thorne, who is currently working on the horror comic anthology Skin Crawling Comics, as well as superhero anthology Solestar by Siike Donnelly.
Artist Dan Smith will be found at Table AA-198 alongside Jesse Mesa Toves, the creator of Tell the Veil. Both artists will be available for commissions during the convention, and Smith will be doing sketch cards and conducting a demo of his latest card game, King of Crime, which was recently funded through Kickstarter.
The Write Brothers will be exhibiting at Booth #1130, with special convention pricing of their Movie Magic Screenwriter and Dramatica Story Development software. The staff will be hosting demos of their three comic book-specific writing templates.
Please visit the WonderCon Anaheim website to purchase your tickets for this exciting event.
Everyone at Fanboy Comics is greatly looking forward to the convention, and we hope to see you there!
