UPDATE: Contest Winners Announced!!!
Dear Fanboy Comics Readers:
It’s not even his name, but a simple governmental position, and still the utterance of The Governor chills the blood of any fan of The Walking Dead. While readers of the graphic novels know what horrors The Governor is capable of and TV viewers are just starting to learn how dark Philip’s soul really is, the undeniable villain of The Walking Dead is a captivating figure in any medium, as proven by the release of The Walking Dead novels, published by Thomas Dunne Books and written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga.
The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor and The Walking Dead: Road to Woodbury are the first two parts of a trilogy that reveals the mysterious and twisted origin of The Governor and his savage safe haven of Woodbury. Here’s how the books are described in the official press release for The Walking Dead: Road to Woodbury:
“Readers of The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor followed the disturbing transformation of Philip Blake as he morphed into The Governor; fans of Kirkman’s Walking Dead comics know Woodbury’s leader as one of the most ruthless and inhumane in the series; and viewers of AMC’s The Walking Dead were recently introduced to The Governor as the character made his television debut in the show’s third season. Yet, the depths of The Governor’s psyche and his merciless interpretation of law and order on the citizens of Woodbury manifest in The Road To Woodbury with unprecedented fashion, and with riveting plotlines and shocking scenes that will leave even the most ardent Walking Dead fans in awe.”
A must-have for any fan of The Walking Dead, Thomas Dunne Books has generously provided FBC with copies of both novels (and a few other goodies from The Walking Dead novels) for a giveaway that is worth sawing off your own hand! (Sorry, Merl Dixon, but you’re excluded from entering . . . please don’t hurt us.) Here’s what is up for grabs:
1. An iPhone decal to skin your phone with the original cover art from The Walking Dead: Rise of The Governor.
2. A specially signed–by co-author Jay Bonansinga–copy of The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor galley: this galley features different cover art than the finished novel, so it makes the perfect Walking Dead collector’s item!
3. A set of the two Walking Dead novels: The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor paperback and The Walking Dead: Road to Woodbury hardcover
