‘ALLISTER CROMLEY’S BEDTIME STORIES’ TO BE RELEASED

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 10, 2012 – Author Shane Portman is proud to announce the upcoming release of his novel, Allister Cromley’s Fairweather Belle (Bedtime Stories for Grownups to Tell), featuring sepia-tinted stories that give grownups something to read to each other before bed. The 70-page collection of hand-crafted stories is complemented by art from talented illustrators Dave Droxler, Melissa McMillan, Jim Senti, Annie Peters, Dallah Cesen, emme b, Kelly Martinez, and many more.

The collection of stories follows Allister, a mustachioed adventurer/explorer/philosopher/boxer/priest and sometimes globe maker, on his journey through the early 20th century to find the simple answers to the big questions and the complex answers to the small.

“After years as a parent reading aloud to my daughter, I wondered why, as we grow older, we lose that intimate connection of reading aloud,” says Allister illustrator Annie Peters. “That all changed when Shane Portman introduced me to his marvelous character Allister. The clever tales, whether shared aloud or read alone, offer tidbits to ponder, thoughts to conjure, and dreams to weave.”

Allister will be available for purchase on Amazon.com starting on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at a cost of $10.00. As a special promotion, 14 additional Allister stories are being released as audio recordings on the book’s website, www.fairweatherbelle.com. The stories, read by Portman and directed and edited by Sam Rhodes, feature musical compositions by various artists including Mark August Spitznagel, Jon Allyn, Saviour Self, and Noa Winter Lazerus.

Shane Portman is currently at work on two upcoming children’s books in collaboration with animator/illustrator Yotam Gilad, children’s entertainer Miss Melodee (world.missmelodee.com), and actor/artist/writer Dave Droxler.
