Today, October 5th, 2012, is the first official Global James Bond Day, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise. This special occasion will consist of a day-long series of events for 007 fans around the world.
The Bond franchise is the longest-running franchise in film history, with twenty-three films in the series centered around arguably the most popular secret agent of all time. The website 007.com assembled the below breakdown of the world-wide events taking place on Global James Bond Day:
Worldwide events celebrating Bond’s golden anniversary include a global online and live charity auction event organized by Christie’s in London, a global survey to discover the favourite Bond film country by country, a film retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, a Music of Bond night in Los Angeles hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Designing 007: 50 Years of James Bond Style opens at TIFF in Toronto.
