Fanbase Press is excited to announce that its flagship podcast, The Fanbase Weekly, will soon launch Through the Ring: A Focus on The Expanse TV Series, a podcast mini-series hosted by the POPSKL Podcasters that will provide an in-depth analysis of the hit sci-fi television series created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (and based on James S.A. Corey’s novels of the same name). This marks the second podcast collaboration between Fanbase Press and POPSKL, following the success of their first endeavor, Dream Journal – A Focus on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman.
Over the course of 12 episodes, Through the Ring will span all five seasons of the television series, as well as the in-universe comic book series, featuring special guests from The Expanse universe, including actor Wes Chatham (The Expanse’s “Amos Burton”) and Eisner Award-nominated writer Corinna Bechko (BOOM! Studios’ The Expanse).
Each episode will be hosted by the POPSKL Podcasters, a group of storytellers who conduct “Big Conversations for Big Stories,” including Justin Peniston (writer – Hunter Black, Netflix’s Sonic Prime), Kelly Sue Milano (writer – HexComix’s Hex 11), Lisa K. Weber (artist – HexComix’s Hex 11), Claire Thorne (founder – Unexpected Hobby, A Geek’s Guide to Cross-Stitch: Journeys in Space), and Phillip Kelly (Fanbase Press Contributor, writer/director/performer). Their analysis will not only explore the themes of The Expanse, but also the overall impact that sci-fi stories can impart on their audiences.
“After having such an amazing conversation about The Sandman over the course of the Dream Journal series, we knew we had to keep going,” notes co-host Claire Thorne. “Finding the next thing we wanted to explore, dissect, and discuss was the easiest group decision ever. The Expanse is absolutely everything we love in science fiction: amazing characters, jaw-dropping visuals, complex themes, and SO MANY SPACESHIPS!”
Be sure to tune in for the launch of Through the Ring: A Focus on The Expanse TV Series on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at www.FanbasePress.com and on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Libsyn. Subsequent episodes will air every Wednesday. Follow The Fanbase Weekly on Facebook and Twitter (@FanbaseWeekly) and the POPSKL Podcasters on Facebook and Twitter (@POPSKLpod).
