Fanbase Press’ Creator Forum offers affordable, monthly online seminars geared towards independent creators from a variety of mediums. Part lecture and part discussion, Creator Forum seminars are accessible to various experience levels and provide direct access to a knowledgeable and responsive specialist. Fanbase Press invites you to develop and enhance your creative toolkit within a positive and supportive community from the comfort of your own home.
For its latest online seminar, Fanbase Press welcomes creators to join Mairghread Scott for the “Writing for TV Animation” Creator Forum on Sunday, May 31, at 1 p.m./PST.
Mairghread Scott is an animation and comic book writer. Her credits include Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Star Wars: Resistance, Marvel Rising, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nubar, Transformers: Rescue Bots, Transformers Prime, and more. She’s also written the comic books Batgirl and Green Arrow from DC Comics, and her original graphic novels, The City on the Other Side and Toil and Trouble.
In the “Writing for TV Animation” Creator Forum, attendees will follow along as Scott shares her experience and knowledge to help demystify writing for the small (animated) screen. Topics will include how writing for TV animation differs from other mediums, transitioning from other mediums to TV animation, the concerns and pitfalls that writers will need to be aware of when approaching their scripting, the types of TV to watch to garner a grasp of the medium, and much more.
The “Writing for TV Animation” Creator Forum will be an hour-long session which will take place via the Zoom online platform, and registration for the seminar will be $10.00 per attendee.
In light of the impact of COVID-19, a portion of the proceeds from this Creator Forum will be donated to the Hero Initiative which creates a financial safety net for comic creators in need of medical aid, financial support, and an avenue back into paying work.
