After two seasons of the show, one movie, and one heck of a Wiki page perusal, I finally was about to take on the manga, Pyscho Pass Volume 1. Let me get you up to speed, and we can go from there.

In a dystopian future (Think Blade Runner meets Neo-Tokyo.), the citizens are judged by the color of their “hues.” They are connected to a citywide network of cameras and scanners “SIBYL,” and the abilities of the Dominators (guns that can read a persons hue) allow justice to be served by the Inspectors and Enforcers. Much like Blade Runner, there are the street jockey bladerunners and then there are the desk jockeys. While the Enforcers role out (stunning a person to rehab to get their hues down to an acceptable color, or taking someone out in a very Akira-esque way with their guns), they have to do it in the aid of an inspector.

Enforcers are basically on a rehabilitation suicide squad. With the help they give, they avoid getting the exploding end of a dominator.

In the 19-episode series, we start out with a new recruit, although you do get little glimpses of the other characters’ pasts. One in particular is very cool, an enforcer who was once an Inspector. Let the manga begin.

The Psycho Pass manga is the first volume in what looks like an ongoing series: unlocking that puzzle, the “what happened” to turn him from one hue to another. A prequel to the series, I can’t wait to check out the next installment.
