This series continues to get more and more interesting. With the latest installment of the eight-part series, this book took a major turn as our lead, Simon Moore, finds out much more than he expected. In the last issue, he took to interrogating the crew of the Hardrian’s Wall, all of them people of interest in the death of crew member Edward Madigan.  With everyone on edge, Simon’s job is hard enough, and that’s not taking into account the fact that Simon is addicted to pills, and someone has taken his stash from him.

All of this really begins to come to a head in this issue, as more and more intrigue is dropped into the series. More bits of information pop up, and while Simon’s going through withdrawal, the members of Hardian’s Wall are gearing up more and more to make his trip as short as possible. With members of the crew plotting against him and the mystery thickening at every turn, it looks like the last five issues of this series are going to be full of surprises. Each time Simon gets closer to solving the mystery, things get more complex. And in this complexity comes unlikely allies, this time in the form of his ex-wife, who is also a recent widow, seeing as her husband’s death is the very thing that Simon’s there to investigate.

I’m really enjoying this book so far. The Rod Reis art is a gorgeous mix of what feels like a more Top Cow Productions house style, which really lends itself well to the book. Alec Siegel and Kyle Higgins have developed a fantastic and unique story, which takes the typical locked room mystery and places it in a futuristic setting.

There’s a lot to like about the slow burn of this series, as well. While only being an eight-issue series, it still finds ways to take its time. Events are slowly unfolding, and the story benefits greatly from it. I’m really looking forward to more from this creative team.
