With budgetary cuts, professional burnout, and never-ending calls for censorship and book bans, it’s safe to say that all members of the library community are anxious about what 2025 may hold. To provide an opportunity for library professionals to discuss and troubleshoot current and potential challenges, Fanbase Press will be hosting the virtual forum, “Navigating the 2025 Librarian Experience,” on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 4 p.m./PT (7 p.m./EST).
This virtual forum will be a free Zoom session, offering a safe and respectful space to troubleshoot issues related to the library profession in the weeks and months to come. Please note that registration is required.
Hosted by Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon, the virtual forum will include the following featured panelists:
- Moni Barrette (comics librarian, director of collection development for LibraryPass)
- Katharine Kan (librarian – Bay County Public Library, former Eisner Awards judge)
- Matthew Noe (Lead Collection & Knowledge Management Librarian at Harvard Medical School, Part-Time Instructor in Library Science at the University of Kentucky)
- Hillary Chang (librarian, manager of the McCully-Moiliili Public Library in Honolulu)
- Jack Phoenix (Collection Development Manager for Cuyahoga Falls Library, author – Maximizing the Impact of Comics in Your Library: Graphic Novels, Manga, and More)
