Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: The Bubble Gumshoes
What it’s about: The Bubble Gumshoes is an all-ages series set in a world where Tabitha and Emily, a pair of hard-boiled middle-school private detectives, are all that’s keeping their town from falling to chaos.
It’s an average school day for Tabitha and Emily, the hard-boiled teenage detective duo who moonlight as hall monitors, but something seems a little off about the townsfolk. The smell of burning baked goods fills the air, and for some reason, all the adults can talk about are cookies? Mischief is afoot, and our trusty gumshoes are on the case! What kind of dastardly, scheming ne’er-do-well could be behind such a heinous crime?!

Project #3: Mongoose: The Unconventional Art of Joseph Mondrick
What it’s about: Joseph Mondrick was born in March on 1951, was inducted into the US Navy during the war in Vietnam, on the same weekend as Woodstock was taking place. He was lucky enough to spend his four years helping wounded soldiers and assisting doctors at the Naval hospital in Philadelphia, just an hour away from his hometown in suburban Pennsylvania. He was married in 1972, and I came along in 1977. He would retire in 2005 and draw in pencil and ink almost his entire life, until the effects of Multiple Sclerosis made it impossible. His body of work is on full display in Mongoose, and represents the life of a man told through his creative expression.
Mongoose: The Unconventional Art of Joseph Mondrick collects nearly 40 years of art across 150 beautifully reproduced black and white pages. Intercut with passages of remembrance from close friends and family, this book is both a touching tribute and a compelling dive into the mind of an unsung talent. This perfect bound softcover book contains political art, sketches from his time working in the US Post Office, personal pieces given as gifts to his wife and close friends, as well as abstract pieces and kid’s art for his only son. It’s a wonderful, poignant addition to your shelf and a tremendous conversation starter for guests.
