Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!
Project #1: Action Philosophers: Omnipotence for Dummies
What it’s about: Do you regret your lack of godlike knowledge to bend reality to your will and impress your friends at parties? Project #2: Octopus
What it’s about: Octopus is a 144-page graphic memoir about me, Richard Fairgray — the writer/artist of Blastosaurus, Black Sand Beach, Haunted Hill, SHED, Four-Color Heroes, and literally hundreds of other books. I’m a blind comic artist with a chemical imbalance in my brain that allows me to process images at an incredible speed, remember too much, and almost never sleep. This book is seven connected stories that capture key turning points in my life across 18 months as I try to kill myself, get divorced, break up with my boyfriend, steal a boat, move to Hollywood, live with a surfing philanthropist, meet a nice man, and have a lot of wine and regrettable sex. It’s an adult story filled with complicated emotions and steamy sex clubs.

Project #3: New Edge Sword & Sorcery Magazine
What it’s about: Sword & Sorcery is a unique fantasy sub-genre known for short, episodic tales with historical inspiration and horror elements, featuring outsider protagonists with personal motivations, often facing dark and dangerous magic! This will be a brand new magazine featuring over 45,000 words per issue of exciting stories paired with original art, essays, in-depth interviews, literary profiles, and book reviews. Made with love for the classics, and an inclusive, boundary-pushing approach to storytelling! In the summer of 2022 we made a prototype “Issue #0,” an unpaid passion project for all involved. We put it out in the world and…people liked it! People want more! So, this Kickstarter will fund the print publication of issues #1 & #2, paying contributors as much as possible this time.
