Fanbase Press – an Eisner Award-nominated comic book publisher and geek culture website – is proud to announce that its flagship podcast, The Fanbase Weekly, will return for its eight season on Monday, February 6, 2023! The Fanbase Weekly team is eager to return for another stellar season filled with exciting guests, including Kevin Eastman (co-creator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Mairghread Scott (executive producer/head writer/showrunner, Dragon Age: Absolution), Marc Guggenheim (creator, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow), Jason Inman (co-writer, Ringo Award-nominated Jupiter Jet), Justin Peniston (writer, Netflix’s Sonic Prime), and more!

For the Season 8 podcast premiere, co-hosts Barbra Dillon (Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief), Claire Thorne (Fanbase Press Contributor, creator of A Geek’s Guide to Cross-Stitch: Journeys in Space), and Drew Siragusa (Fanbase Press Senior Contributor) will be joined by special guests Kevin Eastman (co-creator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and David Avallone (writer, Drawing Blood, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark).  In addition, all episodes released during the month of February 2023 will be sponsored by CAPS, an organization of current and former comics professionals — artists, writers, colorists, letterers, and other creators in the non-animated cartoon arts – which seeks to provide camaraderie, education, information, skill, and career advancement for careers in the comics industry via gatherings and other mutual efforts. (We always want to send a special thanks to our very own graphic designer, Sean Foster, for sharing his incredible talents with us!)

In addition to the podcast’s standard episodes – featuring the co-hosts and a special guest discussing the geeky and pop culture-focused news of the week – Season 8 will continue to feature over thirty “Fanbase Feature” episodes, including panel discussion retrospectives moderated by Bryant Dillon (Fanbase Press President) on such subjects as Batman: Knightfall (featuring special guest and series cover artist Kelley Jones), War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park, Return of the Jedi, and many more!

As a continuing feature of The Fanbase Weekly, we encourage listeners to get involved in the geeky conversation by calling into the official Fanbase Weekly phone line at 818-732-1148 and leaving us a message to share what they are a fan of. Listener messages may be included in upcoming episodes of the podcast. In addition, be sure stay informed and join the conversation via The Fanbase Weekly‘s Facebook and Twitter pages, where curated geeky news stories are posted every weekday. The topics for each podcast are pulled directly from the Facebook feed, so be sure to let us know which stories are your favorites!

The Season 8 premiere of The Fanbase Weekly will be released on Monday, February 6, 2023, on the Fanbase Press website (www.fanbasepress.com) and through Apple Podcasts and Libsyn.
