Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Young Rufus Adventures

What it’s about: YOUNG RUFUS is a 48-page new anthology comic book, telling a bunch of morality tales and adventures aimed at young children, about a talking kangaroo that grows up to become the KILLEROO… Killeroo is a kangaroo/human hybrid created by the Australian military in a secret facility back in the 1970s. Bred to be the ultimate soldier for the harsh Australian outback, for a war that never happened. Since he escaped that facility (and termination), he has formed a bond with the Aboriginal community, and is often found fighting for them and the environment against the destructive encroachment of industry and corporations.

Project #2: Marguerite vs, the Occupation

What it’s about
: Marguerite grew up in a house on the highest hill in the valley; she loved watching the world go by her window. She could see everything. Four years after her family fled the invading Nazi army, France is on the brink of liberation, and 17-year-old Marguerite darts stealthily through the woods she played in as child, eager to witness the moment her long-lost home becomes free once more. Instead, she finds a German machine gun crew occupying the bombed-out remains of her bedroom, using the very vantage point that once brought her such joy and wonder to keep the advancing Allies at bay!

Project #3: Monsterwood Book 3: Annihilation

What it’s about
: Monsterwood falls squarely in the coming-of-age mythos, but contains significant twists, outlandish creatures, strong female characters, plenty of sinister villains, and tons of action and adventure. Monsterwood has a fairy tale-like aesthetic with appropriately dark edges, resulting in a look and feel that is at once ancient, mysterious, haunting, and beautiful. The target audience for this graphic novel series are fantasy comic readers, players of Dungeons and Dragons and fans of worlds like the Dark Crystal. The beautifully illustrated and mysterious fairytale with darkness abound, co-written by special effects artist Jason Rosen and Nicholas Efstathiou, with art by celebrated Marvel, DC, tabletop game designer, Steve Ellis (The Walking Dead, Dungeons and Dragons) and letters and book design by Nathan Pride (Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Dragons).
