Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: MechaTon #1

What it’s about: A rule-of-cool comic about robot mechs punching mutated insects, fighting for your community, and flying by the seat of your pants. Siblings Derek and Leah don’t really have a plan. All they know is that video games are awesome and that you should always look out for your neighbor. When giant mutant insects start terrorizing the neighborhood, they’ll have to get off the couch and do something about it. Luckily, everything they need just fell out of the sky: the MechaTon glove, a machine that converts anything it punches into a real life Gundam, whether it’s a hotdog stand or the entire planet. They aren’t the only ones who want to take advantage of this power, though; if they want to save their neighborhood, they’ll have to battle corporations, the military, and actual space fascists. Here’s hoping they look cool doing it. Issue #1, “Ignition, or How to Properly Punch a Giant Cockroach in the Face,” is about the initial fallout of the glove crashing into Earth, getting to know Derek and Leah, and a pretty awesome punch up with a cosmically mutated cockroach. It’s full steam ahead from the word go.

Project #2: Burzok’s Mercenary Handbook

What it’s about: A collaborative sci-fi artbook telling the stories of dozens of original characters with full-color illustrations. Taking a form inspired by role-playing-game monster bestiaries and classic sci-fi visual dictionaries, Burzok’s Mercenary Handbook is a 100-page tome collecting more than 20 full-color illustrated character designs and fleshing out their world with several dozen pages of stories, fragmentary records, and personal biographies.
