As a special feature of The Fanbase Weekly podcast, the Fanbase Feature focuses on and celebrates a specific element of geek culture.

In this 12-episode Fanbase Feature mini-series, Through the Ring – A Focus on The Expanse TV Series will provide an in-depth analysis of the hit sci-fi television series created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (and based on James S.A. Corey’s novels of the same name).  Hosted by the POPSKL Podcasters, their analysis will not only explore the themes of The Expanse, but also the overall impact that sci-fi stories can impart on their audiences.

POPSKL (Pissed-Off Psychic Scary Kids of LA) returns to The Fanbase Weekly following the success of their first endeavor, Dream Journal – A Focus on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman!  In this first discussion, they tackle episodes 1-5 of the first season of the hit Amazon science fiction TV show, The Expanse.

Creative professionals themselves, the members of POPSKL bring thoughtful and informed perspectives to this lively, deep-dive roundtable discussion concerning the themes, characters, and tropes of this diverse and well-crafted show. After a quick recap of the episodes, they dig into a series of discussion points before finishing with an “In Memoriam” section, where they discuss the deaths of all of the major and minor characters, how those deaths affect the story, and what they mean to each of the podcasters as fans.

Brew up some coffee, heat up some lasagna, and geek out with POPSKL — as they bring you big conversations for big stories.
