Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!
Project #1: Jupiter Jet and the Forgotten Radio
What it’s about: Husband and wife writers Jason Inman (Super Soldiers, Love is Love) and Ashley Victoria Robinson (Science! The Elements of Dark Energy, Aurora and the Eagle) and artist Ben Matsuya (Midnight Massacre), have teamed up – again – with publisher Action Lab Entertainment (Princeless, Miraculous), to bring back the second installment in the best-selling comic book series: Jupiter Jet. Volume 2 will be titled Jupiter Jet and the Forgotten Radio and sees the protagonist, Jacqueline Johnson taking the fight for justice from her neighborhood of Olympic Heights to the stars – and beyond! Back by popular demand, Jupiter Jet and the Forgotten Radio picks up one year after orphan Jacky Johnson inherited her father’s jetpack with a mysterious power source. Now, she truly is the hero Olympic Heights needs – she is Jupiter Jet! But she still doesn’t feel right. It’s hard to protect the world when you recently learned that all of space is open to you! Feeling stifled by the Resistance and all the adults in her life, 17-year-old Jupiter Jet flies beyond the atmosphere of her world to face a new threat!

Project #2: Boston Metaphysical Society: Ghosts and Demons
What it’s about: Madeleine Holly-Rosing announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of Boston Metaphysical Society: Ghosts and Demons, as well as their first coloring book with twenty illustrations by Alejandro Lee. It is the third standalone story that continues the original six issue mini-series. The story will be 35 pages in a 44-page perfect-bound book. With art and colors by Gwynn Tavares and lettering by Troy Peteri, in this story, Caitlin and Alma have continued Mary and Frida’s work as union organizers, but when Caitlin has a disturbing dream about her childhood friend, Duncan the ghost, she decides to return to Boston to find out what’s wrong. Though it is a happy reunion with Samuel and Granville, something much more sinister awaits her and the team.

Project #3: A Boxer
What it’s about: A Boxer tells the story of a young fighter on the path to title glory, as he struggles with his identity as a gay man and the high-pressure world of combat sports. To be published by BHP Comics (Killtopia, Charlie Adlard: Drawing and Sketches, Frank Quietly: The Art of Comics), this campaign is running to pay the costs of a creative team that boasts an Eisner Award, a Dente Award, and three Masters degrees in Comics and Graphic Novels.
The coolest backer reward: As the campaign is to fund the creative costs of the book, we’re not doing anything experimental in terms of rewards. Our mid-tear reward includes both the paperback and digital versions of A Boxer, along with collectible postcards of important characters and events featured in the book. They’re all pretty darn great.
