‘How to Survive in a Stranger Things World:’ Book Review

If the Stranger Things series turned your world upside down, then you will be happy to know that there is a new book out titled How to Survive in a Stranger Things World (published by Random House).  Compiled by Matthew J. Gilbert, the selected images and statements of and by Dustin, Steve, Eleven, and many other characters represent highlights from the first two season of the popular Netflix show.

The slim book is divided into four sections – No Place Like Home, Friends Don’t Lie, The Upside Down, and Happy Returns – and presents an abbreviated three-act plot structure.  The full-color images and quotes will spark memories of scenes for viewers who have watched both seasons, and those who have only watched the first season (so far!) will still find enjoyment and a minimum amount of spoilers.  Additionally, the familiar ’80s aesthetics is conveyed on each page in the form of colors used and accents in the form of roleplaying dice, Polaroid photographs, walkie-talkies, and more.  Most of the quotes remind readers how important friendships are, and this is the heart and spirit of this little treasure trove of Stranger Things goodness.

With the holidays just around the corner, How to Survive in a Stranger Things World is a wonderful gift for family and friends who are fans of the show.
