‘Star Wars Adventures #3:’ Comic Book Review

OMG! OMG! OMG! You guys, I literally CANNOT….STOP…..SOBBING!!!!

Did you guys SEEEEEE that new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer!?  When Leia—and Rey—and then Kylo Ren—and what about Finn!  I can’t.  I just can’t…

But in the meantime, I have to.  Because there’s a new Star Wars Adventures comic book in town, brought to you by IDW Publishing and a plethora of talented writers and artists.

Last month in Star Wars Adventures #2, Rey ended up in a tricky situation.  She may be one with the Force, but in this scenario, she was practically forced to save the only one seeming to keep her well fed, Unkar Plutt.  Meanwhile, female pilot Evaan stepped in to help and saved evacuees from rebel base Yavin in “Tales From Wild Space.”

Which brings us to issue #3 of Star Wars Adventures, in which a certain Stormtrooper whom we’ve come to know (and love) chases down an unknown creature in the presence of Kylo Ren.  But when Finn has to choose between following orders from Captain Phasma and the creature itself, “Pest Control” becomes more than just a story; rather, if becomes his destiny!  Meanwhile, try being K2 from Rogue One as he babysits a handful of Wookiees in this month’s “Tales From Wild Space: Adventures in Wookiee-Sitting.”

Shout out to writers Landry Q. Walker for “Pest Control” and Shannon Eric Denton for his work on “Tales From Wild Space.”  But I believe what’s totally awesome is knowing that Alan Tudyk himself, the voice of K2, also worked with Denton on this month’s storyline.  Artists Eric Jones and Arianna Florean don’t do a bad job either at making everyone look so gosh darn cuddly.  And I especially love this month’s covers by Joe Quinones, Sean “Cheeks” Galloway, and Christopher Liminga.  Keep up the great work, team.

In the meantime, I’m gonna go watch this new trailer again…and again…and again…at least until I stop crying…

May the Force be with you!
