‘Star Trek: The Mirror War #1’ – Comic Book Review

Space battles! Starships! Danger! Intrigue!

Star Trek: The Mirror War has all the things Trekkies love: from The Next Generation Enterprise crew of Captain Picard, Riker Data, La Forge, Dr. Crusher, Deanna Troy, Barkley, and O’Brien to the ships and aliens that they are so familiar with. The twist is that these aren’t the characters we know, but their Mirror Universe – and evil – counterparts.

The issue begins with Picard, captain of the ISS Enterprise, in a firefight on a distant world. Picard is planning to overthrow the Emperor of the Terran Civilization and gets a piece of information on a weapon that will help him do it; however, he and the crew must battle the Alliance made up of Klingons and Cardassians in order to get it.

Writers Scott and David Tipton tell a great tale in this second of a thirteen-part story. The battles are exciting, and the characters are fun to watch. The art by Gavin Smith is fantastic.
