‘Star Wars Adventures: Weapon of a Jedi #2’ – Advance Comic Book Review

How did Luke get all of his Jedi training within the three days that he spent with Yoda during The Empire Strikes Back? Further, how did he know how to use the Force in the Wampa ice cave at the beginning of the movie?  These are some of the great mysteries in the Star Wars universe, and Star Wars Adventures: Weapon of a Jedi #2 has the answers.

Taking place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker is on a quest to find the ruins of the Jedi temple of Eedit. Once there, he finds that he must learn how to use the Force in order to learn its secrets. He does so with the help of the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi and his own wits. But Luke is not the only one interested in the historical site, as villains both familiar and unfamiliar converge on his position.

Based on the book written by Jason Fry in 2015 as part of the Journey to the Force Awakens series, this adaptation was first published as a four-part mini-series in Germany during 2017.  It was written by Alec Worley and illustrated by Ruairi Coleman. It is fun and engaging, especially for fans of the original trilogy. With good artwork and consistent characterization, the comic is a welcome addition to the IDW Star Wars Adventures series which has been great across the board.
