‘The Weatherman Volume 2 #4:’ Advance Comic Book Review

The Weatherman is one of those stories you buckle up into and let it take you wherever it wants to go. It is so much fun. Essentially, the terrorist who killed billions of people on planet Earth wiped his memory and became a goofball weatherman, Nathan Bright. Now, Amanda Cross is trying to get his memory back, with a crew of some pretty tough customers, so she can stop another terrorist attack that might wipe out the rest of humanity.

The frenzied sci-fi adventure has taken them back to a ravaged Earth inhabited by strange, genetically manipulated humans. They’ve met a girl who befriended a creature that takes the form of a sort of polar bear (They are freaking awesome.), and, together, they are trying to track down the scientist that could potentially zap Bright’s original personality back into him.

Everything LeHeup thinks is cool ends up in this book, and what LeHeup thinks is cool is pretty damn cool in my personal book. And Nathan Fox makes it look cool. This is the coolest book on the shelves right now.

After he gets dragged around for the last several issues as we’ve dealt with Cross and her crew, Bright now takes center stage again, and all of the elements built into the last four issues lead to the most amazing final few pages that I’ve read in a while. I cackled with glee when I realized what had just happened. It was like taking the moment when the hero decides to rise to the occasion but multiplied times a thousand.

This series has the verve, vision, and forward momentum of something like Cowboy Bebop.

It’s so freaking cool. Be cool and check out this series. Do it.
