Eisner Awards Coverage 2018: The Nominations Have Been Announced!

The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, often referred to simply as “the Eisners,” are generally accepted as the most prestigious recognition one can receive in the comic book field. The awards are named in honor of comic book pioneer Will Eisner, the creator of The Spirit and the man who helped to popularize the term “graphic novel,” and span over two dozen categories. (Those wishing to learn more about the meaning and importance of the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards should check out our previous article on the awards.)

All professionals in the comic book industry are eligible to vote on the nominations, and voting takes place at www.eisnervote.com. The deadline for voting is June 15. The awards themselves are presented annually at the San Diego Comic-Con International convention during a ceremony that is open to not only comic book professionals, but all convention attendees. This year’s ceremony will take place on the evening of Friday, July 20th.

In the spirit of full discloser, one of Fanbase Press’ own titles, Quince, was honored with a nomination in the “Best Digital Comic” category this year.  Prior to the announcement of the nomination, Fanbase Press stated its intentions to provide extensive Eisner Award coverage this year, and we will continue to do so in the coming months.

Below is a full list of this year’s Eisner Award nominations.
