Join Saving Throw for the 24-Hour Gaming Marathon, ‘The Saving Throw Spring Formal: A Knight to Remember’

Saving Throw, one of the earliest Twitch channels to start streaming tabletop RPGs, invites you to attend a 24-hour gaming marathon themed like a school dance, aptly named "The Saving Throw Spring Formal: A Knight to Remember."  Streaming live on Twitch from Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m./PST to Saturday, March 18, at 8 p.m./PST, the marathon will include geeky music, awkward dancing, and snacks galore, but, most of all, there will be gaming! 24 straight hours of it!

In the crowded landscape of Twitch game streams, a new community is taking off: tabletop role-playing streams. Whether it's sitting around a game table or connecting via platforms like Roll20, these streams are bringing games like Dungeons & Dragons to Twitch in a big way! One of the earliest channels to start streaming tabletop RPGs is the LA-based Saving Throw. The group started out creating Pathfinder tutorials for YouTube and livestreaming their game sessions on Twitch, but over the past few years, they've grown and expanded. Saving Throw now has 6 – 7 tabletop RPG streams each week, playing not just D&D, but games like Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, and several others. They've even got a home-brewed Harry Potter RPG show with an all-female cast!

What sets Saving Throw apart from other role-playing streams is that the viewers in chat can influence the games that they play. By making cash donations or spending free XP that they earn for watching streams on Saving Throw, the chat can give players at the table re-rolls, heal them, add more enemies to a fight, and much more. In addition, Saving Throw also participates in fundraising for good causes, such as for Alzheimer’s Awareness, the Red Cross, and Extra Life. To date, they have raised over $5000 for these charities with the support of their viewers!

If you want to relive the high school dance experience in all of its glory and watch a group of performers, improvisers, and all-around awesome gamers play role-playing games until they can't feel feelings anymore, tune in on March 17th at 8 p.m./PST!
