Support Indie Creators through the Wannacon Virtual Convention This Weekend (March 13-15)

In light of the growing Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns throughout the US, Emerald City Comic Con and other comic book conventions are postponing their upcoming events.  These precautionary and preventative measures are understandable and encouraged; however, there will be an undeniable financial impact to creators and publishers throughout the comics industry, as well as other industries like food, travel, and others.  In order to help mitigate the impact to indie creators, comics publisher Russell Nohelty of Wannabe Press is launching the virtual comics convention, Wannacon, to take place this Friday, March 13, through Sunday, March 15, 2020.

Wannacon is an online convention via the Twitch platform where you can sign up for free and support a variety of comics creators who either may have been displaced from Emerald City Comic Con or are participating in the currently running Kickstarter campaign for Cthulhu Is Hard to Spell: The Terrible Twos.   There will be a two-person interview format, where one person is going to be live drawing while both are interviewed by Nohelty about making comics.

Here's a rundown of the preliminary schedule which will be live streaming on Twitch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12-4 p.m./PST:

FRIDAY - MARCH 13
12 pm PDT - Onrie Kompan and Katrina Kunstman
1 pm PDT - David Avallone and Cammry Lapka
2 pm PDT - Matt Knowles and Steph Cannon
3 pm PDT - Nicoline Evans and Melissa Beth Rose

SATURDAY - MARCH 14
12 pm PDT - Christie Shinn and Carolyn Carter
1 pm PDT - Madeleine Holly-Rosing and Eddie Deangelini
2 pm PDT - Kathryn Calamia and Leanne Kathleen Ingino
3 pm PDT - Melissa Pagluica and Moana McAdams

SUNDAY - MARCH 15
12 pm PDT - Comfort Love and Adam Withers
1 pm PDT - David Pepose and Jonathan Howard
2 pm PDT - Travis Gibb and Erik Lervold
3 pm PDT - David Lucarelli and Melissa Massey

There will be live draws, lively conversations, and fun times had by all, and you can get involved for free while supporting the comics community.  On behalf of all of us at Fanbase Press, thank you to Russell Nohelty for spearheading this virtual convention and supporting indie creators!
