Detective Comics #1000 releases on March 27, celebrating 80 years of the iconic character, Batman. What does Batman mean to the world of fiction? To give you an idea of the significance of this character, simply by this one historic comic book release, the list of writers and artists assigned to Detective Comics #1000 is massive, including Jim Lee, Brian Michael Bendis, Joëlle Jones, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, Tom King, Jordie Bellaire, Dave Stewart, Scott Snyder, Becky Cloonan . . . the list goes on and on (comiXology).

What does Batman mean to the world? How do parents explain such a character to their kids? As a child, I was first introduced to Batman in possibly the best way: Batman, the ‘60s television show. This show is non-threatening and presents danger in a comical way that makes it a wonderful introduction to the Caped Crusader.

Hello, readers! No, I didn’t hit myself on the head, nor is this the product of the Mandela Effect. (Or is it?!!! Duuh! Duuh! Duuh!) I know it’s supposed to be “Wonder Woman Wednesday,” but it’s been kind of a slow news week as far as Wondy is concerned, so I thought I’d try something fun and focus on one of my other “Wonder” obsessions... The Wonder Twins! With their pixie hairdos, purple pantsuits, and polymorphous powers, what’s not to love?
